After a multi-year pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic and 2023 wildfires, the Maui Native Hawaiian Chamber of Commerce will relaunch its signature conference and awards gala this fall under a new name: Holomua 2025.

The Maui Native Hawaiian Chamber of Commerce invites community members to its April “Talk Story” Series event featuring Pastor Greg DelaCruz of Living Way Church. This engaging evening will take place on Wednesday, April 9, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in the Hoʻoheno Room at the King Kamehameha Golf Club.

The KūHana Accelerator is now recruiting for Cohort 14. The accelerator program is for highly motivated entrepreneurs looking to take their company to the next level. KūHana will take participants through the business planning process where members can solidify goals, identify costs to implement, and determine how that investment will positively impact their company. KūHana graduates have gone on to acquire over $3.5 million in funding from traditional bank loans to private equity. 

The most needed resource by Native Hawaiian-owned businesses is working capital grants (57.9%). Other financial needs include delaying GET or other taxes (41.5%) and accessing short-term working capital loans (40.6%).

The US Small business Administration today named Kaleo Nawahine, a native Hawaiian and president of Performance Systems, the SBA National Minority Small Business Person of the Year.

The Maui Native Hawaiian Chamber of Commerce will be meeting tomorrow, June 14, at the Maui Tropic Plantation to elect new board members, and preview the upcoming 5th Annual Business Fest and Awards ceremony to be held in September 2011.
