Hawaiʻi schools to receive $2 M to help provide school meals, keep kids healthy
US Senator Brian Schatz (D- Hawaiʻi) announced that schools in Hawai‘i will receive an estimated $2,340,000 in increased funding from the US Department of Agriculture to help cover the costs of school meal programs.
$70 Million Secured for Honolulu Rail Project in New COVID-19 Relief Bill
The new federal funding will help the City and County of Honolulu pay for a portion of its share of the cost of the project, making up for the loss in tax revenue due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
$1.8 M in Additional Grants to Respond to COVID-19 Impacts in Maui County
Maui County will receive an additional $1,874,312 in Community Development Block Grants (CDBG-CV) intended to provide critical assistance to vulnerable populations amid the coronavirus pandemic. The additional funding would be the third disbursement of CDBG funding from the federal CARES ACt.
