A brush fire on the makai side of the Piʻilani Highway in Kīhei on Maui has burned an estimated quarter acre of brush since it was first reported at around 3:03 p.m. on Friday, May 8.
Kīhei Brush Fire Scorches 5 Acres
South Maui fire crews responded to a brush fire that scorched approximately five acres on the mauka side of Pi‘ilani Highway in Kīhei on Saturday.
UPDATE: Kahikinui Brush Fire Flares Up, Chars 90 Acres
At 1:15 p.m. Monday, the size of the flare up was estimated at around 40 additional acres, making the total so far scorched at 90 acres.
