This summer, Queen Kaʻahumanu Center is welcoming a lineup of retail, school, and community-focused pop-ups that offer new reasons for Maui residents and visitors to stop in throughout the season. Pop-ups include Get Nutz Wear, the Lahaina Think Space, 2BDesired, and the Lands’ End school uniform shop.

The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation notifies Maui drivers and riders that Kaʻahumanu Avenue (Route 32) will be closed in both directions between Lunalilo Street and Kahului Beach Road (Route 3400) from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 20, for the 2026 Nā Kamehameha Commemorative Pā‘ū Parade.

Queen Kaʻahumanu Center invites the community to celebrate Prince Jonah Kūhiō Kalanianaʻole at the Prince Kūhiō Maui Hoʻolauleʻa on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 5 to 8:30 p.m.

Due to inclement weather and the severe weather forecast, the celebration (which was originally planned for March 15) has been re-scheduled to Thursday, March 19. It will begin with a traditional lei draping ceremony led by the ʻAhahui Kaʻahumanu royal society.

The Prince Kūhiō Maui Ho’olaule’a is taking place at Queen Ka‘ahumanu Center on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This event is free and welcomes everyone to enjoy an evening filled with interactive exhibits, complimentary keiki activities, enchanting Hawaiian music, and captivating hula performances!

Queen Kaʻahumanu Center will ring in the Lunar New Year with a cultural celebration and Chinese Lion Dance on Sunday, Feb. 22, beginning at 12 p.m. in Center Court. The free, family-friendly event will feature vibrant live performances, traditional cultural practices, and a giveaway for the first 100 attendees.

Queen Kaʻahumanu Center welcomes the community to a full year of free events, offering regular opportunities for residents and visitors to enjoy entertainment, cultural programming, and family activities at the center.

Crafts, games and treats will be offered by Maui Economic Opportunity’s Youth Services at the Queen Kaʻahumanu Center in the first Frosty Fun Friday on Friday, Dec. 5. Other Frosty Fun Fridays will be held Dec. 12 and 19. The activities run from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Center Court.

This December, Queen Kaʻahumanu Center is celebrating the holidays by spotlighting Hawaiʻi-based creators and brands through a series of special pop-up shops throughout the center. Featured Hawaiʻi brands include: Lokal Vibes, Manaola Hawaiʻi, Happy Wahine, Kahulaleʻa, Born Hawaiʻi, and Get Nutz Wear.

The celebration begins at 11 a.m. on Black Friday, when the first 100 guests will receive a limited-edition Queen Kaʻahumanu Center gift.

A special encore screening of the “Hui Mo‘olelo: Lahaina Film Festival” — a beloved collection of animated short films that honor Lahaina history, culture, and enduring community will take place on Saturday, Nov. 29, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the ProArts Playhouse in Kīhei.
