Hāna Highway closed at Alelele Point near Kīpahulu in wake of recent rockfall
Due to safety issues in the wake of recent rockfall, the County of Maui will close Hāna Highway from Alelele Bridge to Lelekea Bridge near Kīpahulu in East Maui beginning tonight, May 10.
Update: Brush fire burns 8 acres in Māʻalaea, now 100% contained
An afternoon brush fire burned 8 acres in Māʻalaea since it was first reported at 1:49 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2022. Fire crews were able to gain 100% containment by 5:40 p.m.
List: Maui lane closures through Sept. 23, 2022
The state Department of Transportation will be conducting road work this week that will result in lane closures at various locations. This includes the full nighttime closure of the Piʻilani Highway from 8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 19, to 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 20 between Kaonoulu Street and Piʻikea Ave.
UPDATE: Central Ave. in Wailuku OPEN Following Water Line Work
The Maui Department of Water Supply will be closing Central Avenue between Nani Street and Vineyard Street in Wailuku from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for water line work. Traffic will be redirected to Kaniela Street by Water Department personnel.

A motor vehicle crash damaged a fire hydrant and affected water service for Wailuku Town this morning. Department of Water Supply crews are on scene and expect to have the problem repaired by 1 p.m., according to an update issued by County officials.
