Maui severe weather updates for Friday, Jan. 31, 2025

The Flash Flood Warning that was in effect for the island of Maui is canceled. The heavy rain has ended and flooding will continue to diminish. A Flood Watch remains in effect until 6 p.m. Friday for Maui and the Big Island of Hawaiʻi.

Maui severe weather updates: Winter Weather at Haleakalā until noon

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for the island of Maui until 7:30 a.m. The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Maui until 7 a.m. At 5:23 a.m., severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Waikapū to near Kaupō, moving southwest at 10 mph with 70 mph wind gusts.

Severe Thunderstorm Watch Continues for Maui County

Another strong thunderstorm is headed toward Molokai’s south shore. The system is expected to move ashore over western Molokai between now and 10:45 p.m. Wind gusts are expected to be in the 50 mph range

Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued for Kauai

Update: 6:15 p.m. 12/9/10: A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for Kauai and Honolulu Counties until 2 a.m. Friday.
