Recurring Sheriff impersonator incidents have prompted the Department of Law Enforcement to issue additional scam warnings. In recent weeks, several people have had callers claiming to be deputy sheriffs tell them that they have outstanding warrants because they failed to appear in court.

Three Deputy Sheriff Sergeants were promoted to Lieutenant at an official promotion and pinning ceremony held Wednesday.

32 new deputies were added to the Sheriff Division during a ceremony today, including two who will be assigned to positions on Maui.

The recruits completed nine weeks of training that included 360 hours of classroom time and physical training. They are part of a larger class of 27 that graduated today.
