The Internal Revenue Service announced reports that the third round of Economic Impact Payments will begin reaching Americans over the next week. Following approval of the American Rescue Plan Act, the first batch of payments will be sent by direct deposit.

Earlier this month the US government began issuing approximately eight million EIPs by prepaid cards, and because it’s different this time around, they want to make sure people don’t accidentally throw it away.

The COVID relief law provides a new round of one-time direct payments, or “recovery rebates,” to eligible individuals.

Today, Sen. Schatz (D-Hawai‘i) announced that Hawai‘i will receive at least $1.7 billion in estimated funding from a new $900 billion COVID-19 relief package.

US Senator Brian Schatz has provided an update for stimulus funding including a special phone line established by the IRS for taxpayers with questions about their Economic Impact Payment (stimulus checks) issued under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security or CARES Act. Taxpayers with questions can call (800) 919-9835.
