The East Maui Taro Festival has been awarded a $7,000 grant from the Office of Hawaiian Affairs to hold the 27th Annual East Maui Taro Festival on April 13.

The Office of Hawaiian Affairs has awarded a $ 7,000 grant to the East Maui Taro Festival to support its annual event held in Hāna, Maui.

The sleepy town of Hāna is a secluded, quiet Maui village inhabited by residents enjoying the rural life. There are a handful of things to explore in Hāna, so definitely do your research beforehand.

The event is free and features a farmers market, poi pounding, arts and crafts, music and hula.

Traditional Hawaiian cultural practices are paired with a Farmers’ Market, poi pounding, food booths, arts and crafts, music and hula. The 20th Anniversary edition of the East Maui Taro Festival on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Hana Ball Park.
