Hawai‘i’s unemployment rate for July was 2.8%

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for July decreased to 2.8%, with significant job gains observed in various sectors. Maui Countyʻs unemployment rate in July was 2.5%, down from 3.1% in June, and down from the 3.4% reported at the same time last year.

Hawaiʻi’s Economy Expected to Grow Slightly in 2017

The DBEDT revised its projection on Hawaiʻi’s economic growth, as measured by the growth of real gross domestic product, to 1.8% for 2017, slightly lower than the 1.9% projection made in the previous quarter.
