Plan Seeks to Eliminate Upcountry Water Meter List
The Maui Department of Water Supply today presented a plan to resolve the Upcountry Water Meter Priority List within the next two to three years. “This water meter list in my opinion, has to be dissolved in order for us to move forward,” said Mayor Arakawa. “It puts too many restrictions on how people can get water even when they’re on the list, so it’s creating more of a hazard than it is a solution at this point,” said Arakawa.
Upcountry Priority List for Water Meters Updated
The list is dated June 30, 2012, and currently has a total of 1,474 requests for building permit applications, subdivisions, and water service requests received as of June 27, 2012.

An additional 138 people have been added to the Priority Water Meter List for Upcountry, Maui. The list is dated June 30, 2011, has a total of 1,450 requests for building permit applications, subdivisions, and water service requests. The list dates back to October 8, 1996.
