Utility work to impact traffic on Honoapi‘ilani near Kā‘anapali Parkway, Oct. 17
To maintain reliable service, Hawaiian Electric crews will be conducting work for equipment upgrades using bucket trucks on Honoapi‘ilani Highway between mile markers 23 and 24 near Halelo St. across of the Kā‘anapali Parkway in the West Maui area on Thursday, Oct. 17, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The work involves installation of advanced meter equipment and will impact area traffic during this time. No service interruptions are planned for this work.

PUC Decoupling Decision Implements New Electric Rate Setting Method
The Hawaii Public Utilities Commission (PUC) Wednesday issued a final decision on Hawaiian Electric Company’s 2009 rate request. That decision is expected to result in a small credit for Oahu electric customers and implementation of a new rate setting method called “decoupling”. For Maui Electric, a subsidiary of Hawaiian Electric Company, decoupling will come a little later when the PUC issues pending rate case decisions.
