Mayor gives tribute to armed forces and fallen veterans during Memorial Day observance

A solemn Memorial Day ceremony was held at the Maui Veterans Cemetery in Makawao on Monday. The event, hosted by the Maui County Veterans Council, included a tribute from Mayor Richard Bissen to the men and women of the armed forces for their commitment to serve. The tribute also honored fallen veterans who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Community flower donations sought for Memorial Day tradition on Maui

To support and continue this tradition, organizers invite the community to bring plumerias and other flowers to the Blue Hawaiian base (1, Lelepio Place, Kahului) on Sunday, May 28, before Memorial Day.
