Maui County plans to offer $301.8M in General Obligation bonds for public sale

For the first time since 2022, the County of Maui is planning to offer approximately $301.8 million in General Obligation (GO) bonds for public sale to fund key projects. The planned sale reflects the County’s excellent financial standing, according to the County Department of Finance.

An estimated 62,500 gallons of wastewater overflowed off of Kahului Beach Road in Wailuku this morning.

Passed Water Infrastructure Bill Includes Kahului and Hāna

The measure includes improvements to the Kahului Wastewater Reclamation Facility that would extend and raise the elevation of the facility’s existing revetment to protect the shoreline and accommodate sea-rise. It also aims to assist small harbors including Hāna Harbor.

Wailuku-Kahului Wastewater Shoreline Protection Extension Meeting

The proposed shoreline protection extension of the Wailuku-Kahului Wastewater Reclamation Facility will be the subject of a public hearing scheduled for January 14, 2014.
