Masters of Hawaiian Slack Key Show Wednesday

George Kahumoku Jr.’s Grammy Award-winning slack key guitar show “Masters of Hawaiian Music” will be presenting an all-stars performance this Wednesday, June 19, at 7:30 p.m. at the Napili Kai Beach Resort.
This event will feature special performances by five award-winning Hawaiian artists.
Ledward Kaapana, a 2011 NEA National Heritage Fellowship Recipient, is Hawaii’s premier slack key guitarist and tremendously popular on the touring circuit.
Martin Pahinui is considered one of Hawaiian music’s most gifted vocalists and has performed with a host of top artists, including his legendary father’s Gabby Pahinui Hawaiian Band, The Peter Moon Band, and the slack key group Hui Aloha.
Jeff Peterson won a Hoku Award for “Maui on My Mind” and is said to be slack key guitar’s finest instrumentalist. His focus on Hawaiian, classical, and jazz music has allowed him to develop a unique voice on the guitar while remaining deeply rooted in the traditions of his Hawaiian heritage.
Herb Ohta Jr. is the undisputed master ukulele instrumentalist of his generation. Son of the legendary ukulele artist, Ohta-san, Herb Ohta Jr.’s natural talent, knowledge, technique, and speed are unsurpassed.
Lastly, Keoki Kahumoku, a fifth-generation slack-key guitarist and ukulele performer, shares his passion for Hawaiian music and culture through performances, teaching, and captivating storytelling.
This special edition of the weekly show will be hosted by Kahumoku Jr. along with his regulars, Da Ukulele Boyz (Peter deAquino and Garrett Probst) and Sterling Seaton.
Dancer Wainani Kealoha will accompany with hula.
Artists CDs and DVDs will be available for purchase and can be autographed during the intermissions.
Tickets are $37.99 and reservations are highly recommended.
A pre-show dinner at the Sea House begins at 6:45 p.m. and includes show admissions for $78.35. The pre-show dinner menu was not divulged.
