Northeast Winds Fill Back in Today

A High Surf Warning is posted for the north and west shores of Molokai and the north shore of Maui through 6 a.m. Friday.
A High Surf Advisory is posted for the west shore of Maui through 6 a.m. Friday.
A Small Craft Advisory is in effect through 6 a.m. Friday for all Maui County waters except Māʻalaea Bay.
A Marine Weather Statement has been issued. A very large northwest swell will affect Hawaii through Thursday night with open ocean swells of 20 feet and surges expected in Kahului harbor. Large breaking waves are also expected at the harbor entrance. Maliko boat ramp will likely also be affected by this swell.

Looking Ahead
Trade wind weather is forecast to return Thursday. Clouds and passing showers will favor windward and mauka areas as the trade winds take over. Lighter winds are expected early next week as another front approaches. A very large northwest swell will build overnight and linger into Friday resulting in hazardous conditions along exposed shorelines.
Today
Today we expect mostly sunny skies with scattered morning showers for windward and mauka areas. Leeward spots will get just isolated showers. East winds are expected from 15 to 20 mph. High temperatures from 78° to 83°.

Tonight
East winds are expected around 15 mph. Low temperatures from 66° to 71°. Mostly clear skies are expected with isolated windward showers.
