Small Craft Advisory is posted for all Maui County channels, Maui County windward waters as well as Māʻalaea Bay through midnight Thursday. Northeast winds up to 25 knots and rough seas up to 12 feet are forecasted. Inexperienced mariners should avoid navigating in these conditions.

Today (Updated at 7:00 a.m.)
Conditions have been drier than anticipated overnight so will back off on the frequency and coverage of rainfall and cloud cover for Maui County. However, the area of instability to the north of us could still bring enhanced showers. Will keep an eye on it and bring you the latest.
Previous forecast:
Mostly cloudy skies are expected today with frequent showers for windward and mauka areas. Scattered showers and partly cloudy skies are expected for leeward spots. Trade winds are expected from 10 to 20 mph. High temperatures from 78° to 83° near shore and lower high temperatures at higher elevations.

Tonight
Mostly cloudy skies with showers in windward and mauka areas tonight. For leeward areas we expect scattered showers. Trade winds are expected around 15 mph. Low temperatures from 69° to 74°.
Looking Ahead
Locally breezy trade winds are expected over the islands through next week. A disturbance high in the atmosphere is forecasted to pass north of us through Friday making showers more active as it passes. The trade winds are expected to strengthen and rainfall will decrease over the weekend as the ugly weather moves away.
