The intersection at Wākea Avenue and Hoʻohana Street in Kahului will operate as a four-way stop from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28, while work is done on the traffic signal.

A man charged with second degree attempted murder in connection with a shooting in Kahului on Thursday, is being held on $250,000 bail.

A portion of Hoʻohana Street in Kahului is closed to traffic between Kamehameha Avenue and Wākea Avenue due to a large oil spill on the roadway. Maui police say the spill is also partially on Puʻunēnē Avenue. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and take an alternate route until the roadway is cleared.
