Public Hearing to Address Administrative Rules for Dog Parks
The County of Maui Department of Parks and Recreation will hold a public hearing on proposed administrative rules on dog parks. The meeting is slated for Thursday, November 18, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Waikapu Community Center. The public is invited to attend and provide oral or written testimony on the proposed rules.
The proposed rules establish administrative proceedures to regulate dog parks to ensure safe and satisfying recreational opportunities for Maui County residents and visitors, and their dogs.
Draft copies of the County’s proposed Administrative dog park rules are available online at www.mauicounty.gov/parks (click on “Department Rules”) at all County of Maui Parks & Recreation district permit
offices; copies of the draft will also be available at the meeting. Copies can also be mailed to any interested person who requests a copy and pays the required fees for copying and postage. Requests for a copy may be made at the Department of Parks and Recreation, 275 D Uhu St., Kahului, Maui, Hawaii 96732, or by calling (808) 270-8061.
Any interested person may submit oral or written testimony on the proposed rules to be adopted or the rules proposed to be repealed at the public hearings. Also, written testimony may be submitted by mail to the Department of Parks and Recreation, 275 D Uhu St., Kahului, Maui, Hawaii 96732, before November 18, 2010.
