Keep Your Family Healthy with a Green Medicine Chest

Often, when we come down with a cold or some other acute illness, our first reaction is to reach for some over the counter pain reliever. Dr. Judith Boice, an author and naturopathic physician from Colorado, suggests a much different approach. For over 35 years, she has been teaching people how to treat illness and rebuild health using natural and homeopathic remedies.
This Friday and Saturday, Dr. Boice will be leading two workshops at The Temple of Peace in Haiku on building your own Green Medicine Chest. From acute illnesses and minor injuries, to radiation exposure and long-term diseases such as diabetes, Dr. Boice will show you how to use homeopathic and herbal remedies, flower essences and essential oils to treat and prevent many common ailments.
According to Dr. Boice, “Many healing plants have many uses that differ based on how the plant is applied and prepared. This workshop will teach you what natural remedies to keep on hand and show you how to use them in a variety of ways so you’re always ready when an illness arises. These natural remedies don’t simply mask our symptoms, they actually support the bodies ability to heal itself.”
Participants in The Green Medicine chest will learn what natural remedies to use for radiation and other emergencies, how to listen to your body and understand individualized medicine, how to safely and effectively combine therapies, and how to make flower essences. Dr. Boice will also lead participants through interactive role-play, where you learn how to respond and treat a variety of symptoms.
Dr. Boice will first offer a free introductory workshop on Friday May 6th, from 7-9pm for those who would like a basic introduction to green medicine.
