PHOTOS: TEDxMaui a Success, Next Year’s Event Planned
By Maui Now Staff
TEDxMaui, a local version of the world renown TED Conference (Technology, Entertainment, Design) took place at the MACC on Sunday, January 22.
The following are photos of the event, provided by authorized photographers Jessica Pearl and Peter Liu (taking photos/video inside the venue was prohibited).
The event appeared to be a complete success, with no obvious incidents or hiccups on the day, and all 600 tickets sold (extended to another 100 to bring the audience to 700 after the Old Lahaina Luau purchased them for Maui high school students). Problems were widely reported with the online live stream, however, with video coming through patchy at times.
Co-Producer and TEDx license-holder for the event Katie McMillan said that she planned to organize another TEDxMaui for next year.
