Advisory Surf Brings 10-15 Foot Sets to North Shore

Beach goers can expect 10 to 15 foot surf along the north facing shores of Maui and MolokaŹ»i today as high surf conditions continue.

The National Weather Service extended a high surf advisory for affected shorelines until 6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 21, due to elevated surf.

Forecasters from the NWS say the conditions will result in rip currents, localized beach erosion and shore break that will make swimming difficult and dangerous.

As a precaution, the agency advises beach goers, swimmers and surfers to heed the advice of ocean safety officials and exercise caution.
