Maui Crime Log: 24 Burglaries, 24 Vehicle Break-ins

Maui police responded to 24 burglaries, 11 vehicle thefts, and 24 vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period, between Sept. 14 to Sept. 20, 2014.

Of the 11 vehicle thefts, 4 vehicles have since been recovered.  The greatest number of incidents was in Lahaina and Kīhei with two incidents were reported at each location.

Burglary incidents remained high at 24 with the greatest number of burglaries reported in Haʻikū where six incidents occurred over seven days.

Vehicle break-ins also remained high at 24 for the week.  The greatest number was in Kahului where seven incidents occurred, four of them at Maui Toyota on the Hāna Highway.
