A High Surf Advisory is posted for the east facing shores of Maui and Moloka’i through 6:00 a.m. Thursday. Surf of 6 to 8 feet is expected. Expect strong breaking waves, shore break and strong longshore and rip currents making swimming difficult and dangerous.

East winds are expected today from 10 to 20 mph. We expect partly cloudy skies with scattered windward showers. Partly sunny skies and isolated showers in leeward spots. High temperatures from 81° to 86° near shore and lower high temperatures at higher elevations (see graphic above).
UV index at 12 (“very extreme” exposure level)
Windward and southeastern slopes are expected to be mostly cloudy with scattered showers. Partly cloudy for leeward spots with showers passing lee from time to time from the windward side. East/southeast winds are expected from 10 to 20 mph. Low temperatures from 67° to 72°.
Winds will become a bit lighter and swing around to a more southeasterly direction over the next few days. Clouds and passing showers will tend to favor windward and mauka areas with a few showers possible over some leeward areas at times. A front approaching the state is expected to weaken and move across the state early next week with an increase in showers accompanying it.
