Mele Ukulele and The Shops at Wailea invite the public to the free Ukulele Mix Plate events on the first, second and fourth Wednesday—Nov. 4, 11 and 25—at the fountain courtyard between 6 and 8 p.m. Ukulele Mix Plate is an interactive ‘ukulele music event in which attendees can learn about the host culture, about the state’s official musical instrument and even learn how to play. A number of complimentary ‘ukulele will be available, compliments of Mele Ukulele, during the free introductory ‘ukulele lesson. Stop by their retail location on the second floor near Tommy Bahama to sign up. A four-hour event parking validation will be offered with proceeds benefit Maui Food Bank. ? Fall FEAST Menu is Set at Lumeria Maui
Makawao · Lumeria Maui · 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Lumeria Maui in Makawao will be hosting a fall-inspired evening and multi-course dinner as part of the FEAST Hawaii series. As the fourth installment of the FEAST series curated by founder and creative director Amanda Robson, the event will spotlight the local bounty of Maui through a vibrant five-course meal by chef Ben Diamond of The Wooden Crate at Lumeria, and a handmade wreath workshop led by Angela Decoite of RiverMoon Botanicals. In celebration of fall ingredients and produce found on the islands, the evening will emphasize a seasonal menu of flavorful, nutritious dishes by Chef Diamond, followed by an inspired vegan dessert by Guest Pastry Chef Amy Alexander with Baked by Amy. Lahaina to Pay Tribute to Dr. Sun Yat-sen

The Lahaina Restoration Foundation will pay tribute to Dr. Sun Yat-sen, Father of Modern China, during its free, annual festival on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 13 and 14, 2015, between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. at the Wo Hing Museum. During the two-day festival, attendees can learn about the life of Dr. Yat-sen and his connection to Maui through an educational exhibit and during presentations by Dr. Busaba Yip, cultural director for Wo Hing Museum. Friday, Nov. 13, 14, 15

25th Celebration of Hula O Nā Keiki, Nov. 13–15
Kā‘anapali · Kā‘anapali Beach Hotel
The 25th anniversary celebration of “Hula O Nā Keiki”, Maui’s only children’s hula competition, is set to take place November 13-15, 2015 at the Kā‘anapali Beach Hotel in West Maui. The competition commemorates the art of hula, one of Hawai‘i’s richest traditions, and brings the dance to light through the movement of keiki trained in both modern and ancient forms. Participants ranging in age from five to 17 will compete in their respective categories for both solo and pair titles. There’s also an opportunity to win part of the $13,000 in cash and prizes awarded each year.The competition includes a judge’s interview as well as hula performances in both kahiko (ancient) and ‘auana (modern) dance categories. Dancers are also judged on their proficiency in the Hawaiian language, and the appropriateness of their costume. Guns VS Hoses Softball Game

The Pacific Cancer Foundation presents the Guns vs Hoses softball game at the Iron Maehara Stadium. Watch as the Police Officers take on the Firefighters and free admission to those wearing a 2015 Go Pink Police or Fire shirt. There will be food trucks, bouncing castles, Police Vehicles, Fire Trucks and keiki IDs. Pre-sale tickets can be purchased at any Minit Stop location, Kahului Fire Station, and the Wailuku Police Station for $4. Children and Senor Citizen prizes available at the gate on game day. The MACC Showcases Hawai‘i’s Lau Hala Weavers

This family program offers a guided walk-through of the exhibition and an opportunity to meet lau hala artisans and watch a demonstration of their weaving techniques. Attendees can try their hand at working with the materials and can make a small piece to take home. Observe And Play Family Day

The public is invited to Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s “Observe & Play Family Day” event on Saturday, Nov. 14, from 10 a.m. to noon at Schaefer International Gallery. Visitors will receive a guided walk-through of the current exhibitions, Nani I Ka Hala: Weaving Hawai‘i and Hō Mai Ka Hala: Bring Forth the Hala, with an opportunity to meet lau hala artisans and watch a demonstration of their weaving techniques. ? Hui Noʻeau Brings ‘Recipe for Success’ to South Side

The Hui Noʻeau Visual Arts Center is combining some of Maui’s finest in food, wine and art in what it calls a “recipe for success.” This is the 9th year for the the Hui Noʻeau Wailea Food and Wine Celebration, which was started to share a small piece of the Hui with South Maui patrons, and expand community through the arts. It’s now become a tradition and the Hui Noʻeau’s signature benefit, or “friendraiser,” to helps to spread the word about the nonprofit arts center’s mission to unlock creativity through exceptional visual arts education. The Hui also works to enhance this endeavor through the preservation of the historic Kaluanui Estate in Makawao. The event runs from from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Anuhea Room at Hotel Wailea. Annual Ice Sculpting Competition, Exhibition

Maui’s popular International Ice Sculpting Exhibition and Competition will return to Lahaina Cannery Mall. Artists from Japan and across Hawai‘i will demonstrate amazing skill and technique as they transform ice into art during the two-day event. The ice chips will fly from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14, as visiting artists from Japan demonstrate their skills in a freestyle ice-carving exhibition. Pride and prize money are on the line on Sunday, Nov. 15, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., as artists sculpt huge blocks of ice in a 90-minute, head-to-head competition. UB40 helped define reggae music for a generation, producing multiple Top 10, No. 1, gold and platinum albums; earning multiple Grammy nominations; and creating hits worldwide including Red Red Wine, I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You, I Got You Babe and Here I Am (Come and Take Me). The band has sold more than 70 million units worldwide. The band, formed in 1979 in Birmingham, England, pooling a diverse set of influences to put a fresh, indigenous slant on Jamaican reggae.
