Looking Ahead
Increasing trades will keep showers focused over windward and mauka areas during the next several days. The southern portions of the aloha state will see more shower activity as a weak surface trough passes just to the south. The trough will strengthen just west of Kauai heading into the weekend. This will result in a return to southeasterly winds and an increased threat of unsettled weather over the western islands.
Today
Today mostly sunny skies are expected. Windward spots will get morning scattered showers with clearing as the day goes on. Leeward spots will be mostly sunny with just isolated showers. High temperatures from 82° to 87°. East winds are forecast from 10 to 20 mph.
UV index at 7 (“high” exposure level)
Tonight
East winds are expected in the evening from 15 to 20 mph. Low temperatures from 70° to 75°. Partly cloudy skies are expected in the evening with scattered showers for windward spots. Leeward spots should be partly cloudy with isolated showers and clearing as the night goes on.
