Maui Crime, Dec. 13–19: Burglaries, Break-Ins, Thefts

Maui police responded to 17 burglaries, eight vehicle thefts, and 24 vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period, between Dec. 13 to 19, 2015.

Of the eight vehicle thefts, three of the vehicles have since been recovered.  The incidents were reported in Kawela, Wailuku, Kāʻanapali, Makawao, Kahului and Haʻikū.

Burglary incidents were down to 17 from the 18 incidents reported the week before. The greatest number of burglaries reported were Kīhei and Kahului where three incidents were reported at each location over seven days.

Vehicle break-ins spiked to 24, up from the 13 incidents reported the week before.  The greatest number was in Wailea where six incidents were reported, followed by Wailuku where five incidents occurred over the same period.

Hāliʻimaile:

Hāna:

Kahului:

• Monday, Dec. 14, 9:18 a.m.:  2000 block of Mokulele Hwy at the Central Maui Baseyard, non-residential, unlawful entry.
