Winds Ease a Bit Today, Still Breezy

A Wind Advisory is posted for Lanai and Kahoolawe through 6 a.m. Tuesday for east winds from 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph in our windiest areas.
A Gale Warning is posted through 6 a.m. Tuesday for all Maui County channels. Winds up to 35 knots and seas up to 15 feet are expected.
A Small Craft Advisory is posted for all other Maui County waters and channels through 6 a.m. Tuesday. East winds are expected up to 30 knots and seas up to 13 feet.
A High Surf Advisory is posted through Wednesday at 6 a.m. for east facing shores with 6 to 10 foot faces expected.

Looking Ahead
The strong trades will continue to gradually ease through the next couple of days. Trades are expected to increase again by the weekend. Rainfall will continue to favor windward and mauka areas, with some passing showers reaching leeward locations at times.

Windy conditions are expected again today. Windward showers are likely while isolated showers are expected in leeward areas. East winds are expected from 10 – 25 mph with higher gusts. High temperatures from 78° to 83°.

East winds are expected from 10 to 25 mph with higher gusts. Low temperatures from 69° to 74°. Mostly cloudy skies are expected in the evening with showers likely in windward and mauka spots and scattered showers for lee areas.
