Hāna Man Arrested, Charged in Attempted Murder Investigation

Samson Hill, 28, Maui was arrested by Maui Police Department Hāna Patrol Officers at his residence in Hāna at around 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 12, 2017.

Hill was wanted in connection with an Attempted Murder in the First Degree investigation.

The incident being investigated occurred on Monday, March 6, 2017 at the McDonald’s restaurant on
Main Street in Wailuku, where police say Hill allegedly tried to run over officers while operating a stolen car.

Police tell Maui Now that as the vehicle was fleeing, at least one gun shot was fired by an officer.  No injuries were reported.

Also arrested with Hill was 33-year-old Misty Montero-Ancheta, for the offense of Hindering Prosecution in the First Degree but was released pending further investigation.

Hill was arrested and charged under the strength of a warrant for the offense(s) of Attempted Murder in the First Degree, Unauthorized Control of a Propelled Vehicle, Theft of Credit Card and Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card.

His was being held in lieu of $500,000 bail.
