The event first began in 1988, the tournament was re-named in 2007 in memory of The MACC’s Founding Chairman Masaru “Pundy” Yokouchi, who loved Maui, the arts and loved to play golf.

The Pundy Yokouchi Memorial Golf Tournament fills important needs in The MACC’s operating budget every year. Funds raised from the tournament through entry fees and sponsorships will support vital programs at The MACC such as the CanDo! Days arts field trips for elementary students; professional development workshops for teachers; special arts performances for students and seniors; community events like Starry Night Cinema; and more.

The Pundy Yokouchi Memorial Golf Tournament also offers a unique opportunity for business sponsorship with MACC:  sponsors at this high profile event help provide vital support to the MACC’s arts, Hawaiian culture, community enrichment and education programs, which occur through approximately 1,500 events each year and reach more than 230,000 people annually.
