The first two members of the Maui’s newly re-instated Reserve Officer Program were sworn-in during a ceremony held at the Wailuku Police Station on Monday, July 2, 2018.

The Reserve Officer Program provides an opportunity for recent retirees from the Department or police officers who separated in good standing to volunteer as law enforcement officers.

The Maui Police Department previously had an active Reserve Officer Program in the late 1980s and early 1990s before it was discontinued.
