The temporary closure is in accordance with social distancing measures as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This includes Akakūʻs administrative offices, production studio, KAKU radio facility, and upstairs media lab.

“We are a gathering place of community producers. And the health and safety of those that use Akakū resources, along with our dedicated staff, is our number one priority,” said CEO Jay April in a press release this morning. “Therefore, we’re implementing these temporary social distancing measures to ensure that we do our part to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.”
