Latasha Miyahira

March 12, 1983 – Sept. 30, 2021

Latasha “Tasha” K. Kekona Miyahira, 38, stepped into the gates of Heaven on Sept. 30, 2021. She was born at Maui Memorial Hospital in Wailuku, Hawai’i on March 12, 1983.

Latasha is survived by her husband, Jason Miyahira; daughters, Jessasha Tanoue-Kekona and LB Kahahawai-Kekona; son, Mauloa Miyahira; mother, Shirley Kekona (Owen Ching); and seven siblings. Latasha was predeceased by her father, Lloyd “Kalani Kekona Sr. (Richelle Kekona); sons, Branson-Angel Kahahawai-Kekona and Latason Miyahira; and brother, Antonio “Kaleo” Tabon.

Family visitation will be held at Ballard Family Mortuary on Oct. 22, 2021, from 5 to 6 p.m.; public visitation from 6 to 7 p.m. with service over urn to begin at 7 p.m. The family would appreciate it if you could include your name and address on envelopes. The family is also requesting no flowers.

Due to COVID-19, the use of masks and social distancing practices will be required.

Teodora “Auring” Ramal Gajelonia Pacubat

Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, went home to Jesus on Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021 at the age of 62.

Auring was born on Dec. 18, 1958 in the loving hands of her parents Consuelo Ramal Gajelonia and the late Federico Abalos Gajelonia. She was happily married to Ambrocio Ragual Pacubat and blessed them with four children namely Loida, Leilanie, Erwin and Walden. Also blessed with sons and daugthers-in-law namely Rene, Enrico, Floridel and Ermalyn. And had seven grand daughters-son and -in-laws Darreen-Patricia, Jessa, Leineth-Ariel, Angelyn, Alyssa, Lyden and Dwight. And great-grandson, Tristan. Her first born child Loida and son-in-law Rene, petitioned her and she came to Hawai’i last Dec. 22, 2011. She happily enjoyed the 10 years of stay here in Hawai’i, the endless adventures, the ups and downs and various jobs brought excitement in every day of her life.

Auring was a friend of all, a radiating smile and laughter were always shared with whomever she’s with. She had “patience of a saint.” Has been always supportive, loving, and very kind-hearted Inang to her family. She does everything and anything just to make her family happy. Despite being away from other members of the family, her physical absence was never a hindrance to her family left in the Philippines to feel her love and care. She loved taking selfies posting it on Facebook that inspired her family and even others. She loved video chatting with her family and friends in the Philippines, and loved taking good care of everyone. She had always been sacrificial, she had always put above priority to the needs of her family before her, Auring will be remembered as a selfless Inang who always had a smile even when times are tough. The LALA, who had been an epitome of wise decisions, a guide in every journey of the family. Her quiet strength and noncomplaining perseverance had always been viral to every member of the family when things get rough, Until her last days, she remained strong and never let her family worry about her. A BIG WOMAN that will be remembered for having BIG HEART to all. She’s now in peace and enjoying God’s Kingdom. Her family loves her so much but God love her most. Auring fought a good fight and had kept her faith.

You’ll be forever in our hearts.

Jeanne Wheeler

Oct. 6, 1935 – Sept. 12, 2021

Jeanne Wheeler is survived by her eldest son, John Mark Platiro, and by her youngest daughter, Gina Irene Puen (Platiro); her five grandchildren, Tyler Kekoa and Tia Kaiuilani Platiro; Kealani Nicole, Kainoa Matthew and Kaili Hannah Puen, and great-granddaughter Hadassah Wren Puen. She is also survived by her youngest sister, Kay Todd and brother-in-law Douglas Todd, nephew David Todd and niece Barbara Todd Trumbly. She is survived by John Platiro, who she loved.

Wilfred Kekaha

Sept. 24, 1956 – Sept. 22, 2021

Wilfred Martin Kekaha Jr. of Kahului, Maui passed away with his wife by his side at Maui Memorial Medical Center on Sept. 22, 2021. He was born Sept. 24, 1956 in Wahiawa, O’ahu. Wilfred is survived by his wife of 40 years Henrietta Kekaha, six children: Roselani Kekaha, Hanale Kekaha, Michael Kekaha, Craig Kekaha, Rayann Sagon and Rachel Sagon, and survived by his siblings: Barbara Huffman, Roy Cordeiro, Lois Kekaha and Brenda Kekaha (deceased). Wilfred is also survived by 14 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many beloved uncles, aunties, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Wilfred retired as a heavy equipment operator belonging to the Operator’s Union. He has been retired for 10 years. Fellow operators called him “Braddah Willy.”

He very much loved and enjoyed spending time with his family, loved fishing, riding Harley’s and working on cars.

His celebration of life over urn will be held Oct. 16, 2021 at Norman’s Mortuary with family visitation from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., public visitation 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. with service at 10:30 a.m.

Our family would like to thank the staff at Pacific Cancer Institute and Maui Memorial Medical Center Oncology Dept, Maui Memorial Medical Center ED physician and staff, and Hospice Maui. Much Aloha to his nurses Colleen and Lori for a your kind hearts and care for Wilfred.

Robert Hauck

March 12, 1949 – Sept. 29, 2021

Robert “Bob” Gregory Hauck of Kahului, Maui passed away suddenly and peacefully on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, with his loving wife, Teresa Hauck, his twin sister, Becky Anderson and his niece, Stacy Van Hoose by his side. He was born on March 12, 1949 in Los Angeles, CA to the late Joseph E. Hauck and Marjorie Hauck. Bob graduated from Canoga Park High School in 1967 and entered into the United States Navy. Upon honorable discharge, Bob then began a career in law enforcement and served on the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department until an injury forced him to retire. During a vacation in 1985 to visit his twin sister, Bob made the decision to call Maui his home and moved to Kīhei. He began his career with The Renaissance Hotel as Director of security until retirement. Bob enjoyed watching classic movies and sports, especially the Los Angeles Dodgers. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and always had his sarcastic wit about him wherever he went. Bob was optimistic, loving, faithful and kind, and carried his sense of humor everywhere, through every situation.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph E. Hauck and Marjorie Hauck and his eldest brother, Joseph Randal Hauck. Besides his loving wife, Teresa, Bob is survived by his twin sister, Rebecca Anderson, son, Gregory (Lisa) Hauck, mother-in-law Angelita Inay, sister-in-laws Dariline (Andres) Arrocena, Lorlane (Mark) Tassler, brother-in-laws Sunny (Gina) Inay, Joseph Inay, Bong (Sonia) Inay, granddaughter Miranda Hauck, his little “Princess” Sophia Vergara, nieces, Stacy and Katlyn Van Hoose, nephew Joe Hauck, as well as many more nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family. Bob will be forever missed, but will live on in the many lives he touched along his path.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Norman’s Mortuary, 105 Wai’ale Road, Wailuku, HI 96793. Services are scheduled for Friday, Oct. 15, 2021. Family Viewing is from 5 to 6 p.m. Public Viewing is from 6 to 7 p.m. Service begins at 7 p.m. Due to Covid-19, face masks and social distancing are required. Temperature checks will be done upon entry into the funeral home.
