Body of Missing Maui Man Recovered From ʻĪao Valley
Update: Nov. 8, 2021
A man who was reported missing on Maui in October, has since been found deceased.
On Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021, at about 4:27 p.m., police responded to ʻĪao Valley State Park regarding the discovery of a deceased male. The man has been positively identified as Dominic Massey, 28, of Wailuku.
Massey was last seen leaving his residence in Wailuku on Oct. 4, 2021.
Police say a preliminary investigation shows no obvious signs of foul play.
An autopsy has been scheduled and the investigation is ongoing. The case is currently classified as an unattended death.

The Maui Police Department is requesting the public’s help in locating 28-year old Dominic Massey. Massey was last seen leaving his residence in Wailuku on Monday, Oct. 4, 2021 at approximately 6:30 a.m. in his vehicle, which was located by Police in Wailuku.
Massey’s last contact with family was via phone at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon, saying he was at Walmart.
Massey is described as approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, and about 210 pounds. He has short black hair and brown eyes. When last seen, Massey had a short goatee, a tattoo of a cross on his left chest and “1993” tattooed across his stomach. He also has a tattoo of a turtle behind his left ear and Angel wings on his left forearm. Massey was last seen wearing a fluorescent yellow shirt with the “Fabmac Homes” logo, blue jeans with paint stains and brown work boots; however, could have changed his clothing after leaving his residence.
