Brush fire off Kahekili Highway

Maui fire crews are responding to a brush fire off of Kahekili Highway in the macadamia nut fields. The fire was reported at around 6:20 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024. The smell of smoke was reported by residents in Happy Valley and parts of Wailuku.

There are multiple Maui Fire Department units on scene. As of 7:30 a.m., the fire was less than an acre in size, according to MFD Public Information Officer, Chris Stankis.
