Catholic Community Foundation to host ‘Spiritual and Wellness Health Fair’ for wildfire survivors, Aug. 17

A “Spiritual and Wellness Health Fair” for Lahaina and Kula wildfire survivors will be held 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 17 at the Lahaina Civic Center.

Hosted in part by the Hawaiʻi Catholic Community Foundation, Maria Lanakila Church, St. Anthony Church and Epic Ministries, the free event aims to provide tools and resources for the physical, emotional and spiritual healing of Lahaina and Kula wildfire survivors.

“As the community of Lahaina continues to navigate its way forward, our parish and the Sacred Hearts School community is showing how people of faith can sustain each other, even in times of great adversity,” said the Rev. Kuriakose Nadooparambil, pastor of Maria Lanakila Church.

Event highlights include spiritual support with priests from Maui’s Catholic parishes available for individual, family and group prayer sessions, as well as health professionals, to discover strategies for resilience and empowerment.

A keiki corner will feature fun tabletop activities and giveaways. The first 500 households to complete a “Wellness Passport” will receive a $50 gift card, and there will be multiple $1,000 door prizes, along with a $2,500 gift card grand prize. The event will also feature island-style entertainment.
