Wailea Community Association launches search for GM; Pikrone to retire after 25 years

After decades of leadership as the Wailea Community Association general manager, Frank “Bud” Pikrone has announced his plan to retire this year. A search for Wailea Community Association’s next general manager has been launched by the Inkinen Executive Search firm.

To support the transition, Pikrone will remain with the Wailea Community Association as an advisor through September 2025.

“Bud has been instrumental in leading the Wailea Community Association and supporting the island community of Maui for 25 years, and we are grateful for his consistent dedication to our community,” said Maynard Torchiana, WCA board member. “Succession planning has been a key priority and with Bud’s ongoing leadership, we are prepared for a smooth and seamless transition.”

The Board of Directors has created a hiring committee to direct the search and will consider internal and external candidates. The committee will evaluate and present the Board with a diverse, highly qualified group of finalists aligned with the position’s specifications. Finalists will meet virtually with the Board, with the top two candidates invited for in-person interviews.

The Wailea Community Association is a nonprofit corporation, chartered in 1987 for the purpose of providing the management, maintenance, protection, preservation, aesthetic and architectural control and development of the1500 acre master-planned Wailea Resort community.

The land area is approximately bounded by Piʻilani Highway, Kilohana Road, South Kīhei Road, the Pacific Ocean and Kaukahi Street.

WCA membership consists of all property owners of record in Wailea including individual condominiums, hotels, recreation and commercial amenities, single family homes and undeveloped lots and land parcels as recorded in their deeds.
