ʻOhana Fuels raises $6,375 for Teran James Young Foundation

The Teran James Young Foundation has received $6,375 from ʻOhana Fuels, thanks to strong community participation in the company’s “Fuel Up. Do Good.” program, the Foundation announced Tuesday.
The funds will directly benefit several of the Foundation’s vital programs, each dedicated to strengthening peace, justice and sustainability across the island. Programs include:
- Hale Pono Youth Shelter: Providing a safe, supportive and restorative home environment for houseless youth or youth in need from ages 12–17 on Maui, helping them transition toward stability, education and healing.
- Nonviolent Communication for the Next Generation in Schools: Teaching nonviolent communication, empathy and conflict resolution skills to youth, empowering students with tools to express themselves clearly and resolve conflicts peacefully within school communities.
- Maluhia Mediation: Offering mediation services to individuals, families and organizations across Maui, helping community members resolve conflicts collaboratively and restore relationships outside of courtrooms.
- Restorative Justice Center: Promoting accountability and healing by facilitating restorative justice processes where youth and community members address harm through dialogue, understanding and mutual agreement, rather than punitive measures.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Supporting programs and partnerships that promote environmental responsibility on Maui, including educational events, community cleanups and initiatives encouraging sustainable practices among residents and organizations.
The Foundation thanked ʻOhana Fuels and Minit Stop Hawaiʻi for their support. It was selected as the beneficiary of the ʻOhana Fuels “Fuel Up. Do Good.” program earlier this year.
The fuel program donates a portion of every gallon of gasoline sold at Maui ʻOhana Fuels stations to local nonprofits, and is currently supporting Maui Cancer Resources through June 2025.
Community members are invited to the Teran James Young Foundation’s next major event, “Rally Around Peace,” taking place Sept. 27, 2025, at South Maui Gardens. The celebration will feature live music, speakers, keiki activities, a Healing Zone and a Peace Summit focused on community restoration and sustainability.
