Hawaiʻi’s own, Kamalei Kawaʻa, made his mark on national television as a Top 20 finalist on NBC’s “The Voice” (Season 25) and is now stepping into a new chapter of his musical journey. The Maui-born artist debuts his island reggae band, ʻĀinaty, and the release of their debut single, ʻĀinaty.

“ʻĀinaty blends the sounds of island reggae with traditional Hawaiian values and modern musical styles, creating a fresh and powerful sound that speaks to both past and future,” according to the debut announcement.

Fronted by Kamalei Kawaʻa, the band includes an all-star lineup of local talent: Kamaehu Kawaʻa, Kalena Montalvo, Kaloi Montalvo, Nalu Robinson and Jon Ako.

“Together, they are bringing a new wave of music that honors the land, community, and culture of Hawaiʻi, with a focus on aloha ʻāina and the kuleana (responsibility) we all share to mālama ʻāina for future generations. Through this collective vision, they strive to foster unity, uplift Hawaiʻi’s future, spread aloha and inspire meaningful action through the healing power of music,” according to the announcement.
