Mana Up and Duke Kahanamoku Foundation launch limited-edition product line honoring surf icon

Mana Up and the Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Foundation have announced a new limited-edition collaboration featuring seven Hawai‘i-based companies and their exclusive products paying tribute to Duke Kahanamoku.
The collection launches May 17 in-store at House of Mana Up and will soon be available May 18 at HouseofManaUp.com. It will not be available in-store at the new Mana Up Market at Royal Lahaina Resort & Bungalows, the company said.
Kahanamoku was an Olympic gold medalist and surfing pioneer from Honolulu. Each product in the collection draws on Duke’s enduring influence, blending cultural pride with modern design.
“This partnership with the Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Foundation represents everything we stand for at Mana Up—celebrating local talent, sharing Hawai‘i’s unique stories and creating meaningful products that honor our heritage,” said Meli James, Mana Up co-founder.
Participating brands and their featured products include:
- AVVA – Ambassadors With Aloha: Founded by Native Hawaiian professional surfer Kekoa Cazimero, AVVA’s collection features modern surfwear including windbreakers, graphic tees and boardshorts. The designs incorporate historic crests to honor Duke’s role as a global ambassador of aloha.
- Meli Wraps: The brand’s eco-friendly kitchen set includes wave-inspired dishcloths and towels.
- Surf Shack Puzzles: A mailable, pocket-sized puzzle featuring a vintage photo of Kahanamoku and the message “send piece & aloha.”
- Jules & Gem Hawai‘i: A maile-scented collection of soy candles, car fresheners, diffusers and room sprays, inspired by the lei draped on Duke’s Waikīkī statue.
- Aloha de Mele: A limited-edition bucket hat by artist Jasmin Tanuvasa channels Duke’s laid-back style with a modern artistic touch.
- Coco Moon: This soft, family-friendly line includes a swaddle, infant coverall, polo shirt and mama robe. A portion of proceeds support Nā Kama Kai and the Duke Foundation.
- Nick Kuchar Art & Design Co.: Honolulu-based artist Nick Kuchar created a vintage-style print inspired by Kahanamoku’s 1957 appearance on “This Is Your Life,” capturing his impact as a waterman and cultural ambassador.
The full collection will be available at House of Mana Up locations at South Shore Market and Royal Hawaiian Center beginning May 17, and online on May 18. More information is available at HouseofManaUp.com.
