Circumstances Unclear Over Death of Man at Honokōhau Valley

Circumstances surrounding the death of a Nāpili man are unclear after police say he was found unconscious with multiple injuries to his body on Monday afternoon at his property in Honokōhau.
Police say 57-year-old Joseph Bento was clearing his property when a friend found him laying unconscious under a large tree at around 5 p.m. on Monday, July 28, 2014.
According to police reports, emergency personnel responding to the scene initiated life saving efforts on Bento, but he succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.
An autopsy has been ordered to determine the exact cause of death.
