Gusty Winds Continue for Maui County

A Small Craft Advisory is posted for all Maui County waters and channels through 6 p.m. Friday. East winds are expected up to 30 knots and seas up to 11 feet. A Gale Warning is posted for the Alenuihaha channel as well. Winds up to 35 knots and seas up to 13 feet expected there.
A High Surf Advisory is posted for the north shores of Molokai and Maui through 6 a.m. Thursday for surf from 10 to 15 foot faces. An advisory is also posted through Friday at 6 p.m. for east facing shores with 6 to 10 foot faces expected there.

Looking Ahead
Breezy trade winds will build even more through Friday, and then remain strong into next week. Clouds and showers are expected to be light and limited mainly to windward slopes, though some will drift leeward at times on the strong winds. Shower activity will increase again by late in the weekend.

Partly sunny skies are expected for windward and mauka areas with scattered showers. Leeward areas will be partly sunny but could get some isolated showers riding in our breezy trade winds. East winds are expected from 15 – 30 mph with higher gusts. High temperatures from 79° to 84°.

East winds are expected from 15 to 30 mph with higher gusts. Low temperatures from 70° to 75°. Mostly cloudy skies are expected in the evening with scattered showers in windward and mauka spots and isolated showers for lee areas.
