Looking Ahead
A slow increase in trade winds is forecasted over the next couple days. A band of moisture associated with a weak disturbance is expected to move across the state into Wednesday, increasing showers for windward and mauka areas mainly. Winds will then weaken and shift southeasterly this weekend making daily afternoon sea breezes and overnight land breezes the weather pattern during that time. Some volcanic haze is possible during that time as well.
Today
We expect light northeast winds from 10 to 15 mph today with a local afternoon sea breeze developing. Partly sunny skies are forecast with scattered windward showers. Sunshine for leeward areas with isolated morning showers and scattered afternoon showers. Temperatures up to 85° to 90°.
UV index at 11 (“extreme” exposure level)
Tonight
Mostly cloudy skies with scattered showers for windward spots. Leeward spots with isolated showers. Low temperatures from 70° to 75°. Winds are expected to be east winds around 15 to 20 mph.
