Search For Missing Diver Launched at Pokai Bay
By Wendy Osher
Rescue crews launched a search on Oahu this afternoon for a possible missing diver in an area north of Pokai Bay.
The search is in the vicinity of Cabana’s Beach between LahiLahi Point and Wai’anae Boat Harbor.
The search was initiated when the captain of a dive vessel from Dolphin Excursions recovered a dive float with recently speared fish attached and a severed tether line floating approximately 200 yards offshore.
Among those aiding in the search are: crews aboard a Coast Guard Station Honolulu 45-foot Response Boat-Medium; and a rescue aircrew aboard a Coast Guard Air Station Barbers Point.
Anyone with information should call the Sector Honolulu Command Center at 808-842-2600.
