There are an estimated 3,449 people without power in North Kīhei, according to an outage map posted by Hawaiian Electric. The power outage was first reported at around 7:17 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022.

The DLNR Division of Forestry and Wildlife, in partnership with the Kure Atoll Conservancy, is seeking habitat restoration volunteers for work at the Kure Atoll State Wildlife Sanctuary, in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands.

University of Hawaiʻi Economic Research Organization’s economic forecast released today predicts a mild recession for the US in the first half of next year.
