There will be a special rate for customers who come to The Shops at Wailea for the Wednesday evening entertainment, Wailea Leʻa and ʻUkulele Mix Plate. Tonight’s featured entertainer at the Wailea Leʻa event is Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Henry Kapono, who will be on stage from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the fountain courtyard.

Dane Fujiwara to Perform in Lahaina on June 25

Dane Fujiwara, a falsetto singer with an outstanding vocal range, will perform at Lahaina Restoration Foundation’s free monthly Hawaiian Music Series concert on Thursday, June 25, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on the Baldwin Home Museum lawn.

Maui’s Flecha Tovar Crowned Ms. Hawaiʻi America 2015

Flecha Tovar of Kīhei, Maui, won the State Title of Ms. Hawaiʻi America 2015 over the Memorial Day weekend and advances to compete for the national Ms. America title on August 29, 2015 in Brea, California. She was one of two Mauian’s who brought home pageant titles over the Memorial Day weekend.

The event is a fundraiser for Doorway Into Light, Manaʻo Hana Hou Radio, Maui Surfrider Foundation and Hui O Waʻa Kaulua.

The Maui Film Festival honored Adam Driver today as the 2015 Maui Film Festival Shining Star Award recipient. During an exclusive Maui Now interview with Malika Dudley she asked if there is a major goal or aspiration for the future of his career. Driver responded saying, “The idea of planning or having an idea of where you want to go doesn’t make sense to me, because it’s never going to be that, so why even try to muscle something. I’ve been kind of lucky enough. Things have just kind of happened that I didn’t plan, and I’m just going to try and ‘ride the wave,’ to use an expression that will hopefully resonate with the Maui audience, and see where it goes.”
