Artists from Japan and across Hawaiʻi crank up their chainsaws for an exhibition and competition of international ice sculpting at the Lahaina Cannery Mall this weekend.

A high energy crowd was thoroughly entertained at the very first show for the Maui Comedy Festival which runs through Halloween weekend.

A family friendly Halloween event is planned at the Lahaina Cannery Mall in West Maui from 5 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31, 2014. The event features Halloween magic, trick-or-treating, face painting, crafts and a keiki costume contest.

The Lānaʻi Chamber of Commerce Hosts its second Fifth Friday event for Lānaʻi from 4:30 to 8 p.m. on Halloween in the heart of Lānaʻi City at Dole Park.

Highlights include the 36th Annual Keiki Halloween Costume Parade at 4:30 p.m. sponsored by the West Maui Soroptomists, Lahaina Rotary Clubs, and the National Kidney Foundation of Hawaiʻi.

Maui becomes the center stage for comedy this weekend with 31 nationally recognized comedians performing at six venues in Lahaina between Oct. 30 and Nov. 2, 2014.

Known for his inappropriateness and host of Comedy Central’s, This Is Not Happening, we asked him a few questions about Maui and about comedy in general. Here’s what he had to say:
