Haleakalā Headquarters Visitor Center to Re-open, March 17
The Headquarters Visitor Center of Haleakalā National Park will re-open at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, after a Feb. 25 closure, when staff reported a cracked beam in the ceiling of the facility.

Practitioners Wanted for Cultural Demonstrations at Haleakalā, Kīpahulu

***Update: 2:10 p.m., 3/13/15, Missing Person Randy Perez was located by the Coast Guard today on his boat offshore in Lahaina. He was found to be in good health. The Maui Police Department thanked the public for their assistance.

$4.9 M in Federal Funds Released for Maui County Schools
A total of $4,925,038 in federal funds have been allocated for local educational agencies in Maui County. The grants are intended to provide financial assistance to school districts for services that improve the teaching and learning of children at risk of not meeting academic achievement requirements.
