Maui firefighters responded to a home fire on Lower Waiehu Beach Road Sunday afternoon. The fire was reported at 12:27 p.m. at 203 Lower Waiehu Beach Road in Central Maui.

According to police reports, the man who was operating a Kawasaki motorcycle, appeared to have failed to negotiate turn, struck a median, and then crashed into a tree. The motorcyclist died at the scene.
