Maui workshop trains tradespeople in historic wooden window restoration techniques

Historic Hawai‘i Foundation, in partnership with the University of Hawai‘i Maui College and industry collaborators, invites carpenters, construction professionals, apprentices, and tradespeople to apply for the Maui Preservation Trades Training: Wooden Window Workshop, a two-day, hands-on training taking place April 16–17, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

11 students complete construction summer internship program on statewide projects

Eleven students graduated from the Hawaiʻi Carpenters Apprenticeship & Training Fund’s Career Connections summer internship program at the HCATF facility in Kapolei.  

Tax Day is also tax fraud awareness day

Pacific Resource Partnership and the Hawai‘i Regional Council of Carpenters is reminding workers on Tax Day, especially those in the construction industry, that it’s never okay for companies to pay employees under the table, deny them overtime pay and health benefits, or misclassify them as independent contractors.

New mentorship program helps apprentices graduate as journey-level carpenters

Pacific Resource Partnership, in collaboration with the Hawai‘i Regional Council of Carpenters, announces a new mentorship program that will help men and women gain the skills and instruction they need to become journey-level carpenters as they complete their apprenticeship training in carpentry, drywall, and millwright.  

Building industry welcomes new class of journeymen

More than 180 men and women celebrated becoming professional carpenters also known as journeymen. The group consists of 183 new journeymen – 160 carpenters, 21 drywall workers, and one millwright.
